What About Red Fruits?
It has been said over and over again that for optimum good health, one should eat at least five servings of fruit and vegetable each day. Now research shows red fruit alone offers a number of healthy rewards. According to a report that came out around the end of last July, varieties of red fruit provide antioxidants, ward off inflammation, prevent urinary tract infections and reduce the risk of certain cancers.
Watermelon is high in fiber, vitamins A and C, and is a good source of potassium. Some experts even say the deeper the color of red, orange or yellow fruit, the greater its healthy chemical components.
Research shows it's a healthy addition to your diet and that all of the watermelon, including the seeds and rind, is edible.
